In 2006, the South East Queensland region of Eastern Australia experienced severe drought, raising concerns about potential water shortages. To remedy this, the Queensland Water Commission (QWC) launched the Target 140 campaign, which aimed to reduce average per capita water consumption from 180 to 140 litres per day.
